Members of the group Citizens for the Demilitarisation of Harewood dress as “spies” in a demonstration outside Christchurch Airport yesterday. Sunday was named by the group’s co-ordinators, Peace Movement Aotearoa, as a day of action against United States military bases in the Philippines, Australia and New Zealand. The group said that the spy costumes were a play on the initials C.I.A. (Central Intelligence Agency, and Christchurch International Airport).
