Man marks
“Man Marks” is the title Rick Edmonds has chosen for his tenth exhibition at the C.S.A. Gallery. The mixed media show is intended to parallel the influences on the natural landscape of God and man. The artist is in no doubt that man’s influence has not been good. He admits the exhibition’s theme is “jumping on the environmental bandwaggon.” The exhibition, which runs until October 26, includes paintings, photographs, prints and construction works. Rick Edmonds says he chose whatever materials seemed appropriate for each work. “Man has made rather a mess of some things. I want to show that.” Anne Fountain’s paintings of Banks Peninsula at the C.S.A. are an expression of her joy and peace in which she finds the landscape of Banks Peninsula. “I trust the viewing public will be able to catch something of my vision. Perhaps in so doing people may receive a kind of healing from the pressures and questions that surround their lives as I do when I spend time on the peninsula.”
