Woollen works
Mary Bartlett and Margaret Stove are the guest exhibitors at the Christchurch Guild of Weavers and Spinners annual exhibition at the C.S.A. Gallery. Mary Bartlett has been weaving for 20 years. Her work has been exhibited throughout New Zealand. Margaret Stove is known internationally for her fine Merino spinning and knitting. Her designs use Maori motifs and
native flowers. She was chosen recently by the Department of Internal Affairs to represent New Zealand at the Commonwealth Games Art Festival in Edinburgh. The exhibition, which runs until October 26, includes decorative and practical examples of the guild members’ work nigs, wallhangings, fabrics, felt works and handspun knitwear.
