School show

What promises to be an imaginative version of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will be performed by the Christchurch Rudolf Steiner School this week. Since the idea for the play was hatched last May, fifth and sixth form pupils and parents have been hard at work, particularly on the soundtrack, costume design and lighting. The play will be set to music ranging from early Elizabethan to the twentieth century as well as a

piece especially composed for the production. Lighting has been designed to enhance the moods of the play, particularly the forest fairy sequences. The fairies will employ the use of eurythmy, the art of movement to speech and gesture. The play is directed and produced by Roderick Green and Jean gates. It will be performed at the Mill Theatre from October 16 to 18. Tickets are available from the theatre or the school.
