Five artists

Five Wanganui artists present a combined exhibition of glassware, porcelain, pottery and weaving at the Courtyard Pottery this week. The exhibiton, which will go on display from October 18 to 29, features glassblowers Tony Keupfer and Murray Hill, whose works are wellknown for their forms and colours combination. Accompanying their works are crystalline glaze porcelain by Evelyn Kelly and April Pearson’s sgraffito-decorated landscape pots. Her inspira-

tion comes from the terrain of the Wanganui region, especially the upper reaches of the river valley. Weaver Harris Mills attributes his overseas training as an interior designer for a feeling for colour mixing and design. After trying several crafts, he feels most at home behind the loom, using hand-dyed wool, sometimes mixed with linen, to create his cushions and rugs. The Courtyard Pottery is situated at 69 Rutland Street.
