P.-West buys a third
Prime-West Corporation, Ltd, has bought a property at 147 Hereford Street, Christchurch. The property includes the building occupied by Nova Gallery, Westpac Travel, and the Midcity Cinema complex. Total land area is 847 sq m (including 15 car-parks) and available floor space is 1430 sq m. This will be the third strategically placed property acquired in Hereford Street by this Christchurch-based property developer and merchant banking company. The other properties are situated at 135 Hereford Street (occupied by Wrightsons Real Estate) and at 137 to 139 Hereford Street (occupied by New Zealand Insurance). The company is completing construction of a penthouse on top of the NZI building and will move its head office to these premises in the next week. Prime-West Corporation’s earlier proposal to construct a new head office in Hokitika is being re-evaluated. The Hokitika development is being offered to a Government department and construction is scheduled to begin when the development has been pre-sold.
