Diamond bite offered at Court gala night
Patrons at the Court Theatre’s gala night in November will be able to munch on pieces of birthday cake, and possibly, a 30-point diamond. The diamond will be baked in the theatre’s fifteenth anniversary cake, which will be for sale at $lO a slice. The Court will end its anniversary year celebrations with the gala night on November 14. The
theatre’s guests of honour will be the Governor-Gen-eral, Sir Paul Reeves, and Lady Reeves. They, and other invited guests, will see a performance of “Educating Rita,” starring Jonathan Elsom and Janet Fisher. Also on show will be the collection of garments by Patrick Steel, modelled by the Spotlight Model Agency. A range of St Helena
wines and supper is provided, including the birthday cake and its diamond, given by Nicolas Jewellers. The Court’s promotions officer, Mr Mark Skelding, said that only 250 people would be invited. The $6O tickets would include a contribution towards the theatre’s funds. The theatre had planned a fitting occasion to mark its anniversary, he said.
