Taylors Mistake baches
Sir, —Our council, which helps in taking care of its citizens, should be more Interested in conserving the lives of the living rather than upholding the existence of an outdated paper road. For those who do not know, the paper road was a Government measure brought in years ago for defence purposes. Surely, with today’s methods of. warfare, a road running the entire high-tide mark of the country is going to be of no use whatsoever in saving any lives, whereas the surf club members and bachowners at Taylors Mistake have many times proved their worth. Let them continue to do so. Can we really afford the extravagant scheme the council has proposed for the area? Do we in fact want it? — Yours, etc.,
G. D. RANKIN. September 11, 1986.
