Buller centre demolition begins

The Buller Unemployment Centre says it is complying with the Westport Borough Council’s demolition order for their centre.

A centre spokesman, Mr Mike Duff, said that common sense dictated that the fire-damaged' centre should come down

and that Centre members started demolishing it yesterday before any order was served. He says they were removing everything that was burnt or dangerous, including the facade of the building and should finish the job today.
