Halswell, with a rush
Two goals in the final 10 minutes enabled Andas Halswell United to beat Classique Technical, 2-1, in a Hertz League soccer knockout match at English Park last evening. Technical went ahead in the first half through Peter Burt. Nine minutes from the end, Robbie Larter, with a strong header at the far post from a free-kick wide on the left wing by Michael Mulcahy, brought Halswell level. The winning goal, five minutes later, came from a penalty by Michael Fullen. A shot—by Mel -Jones was on the Technical
goal-line by the hands of a defender.
In the early game New Brighton won a place in the final of the English Cup knockout competition. Brighton scored twice in the second half to beat KLM Cashmere, 3-1. Tony Orpwood gave Cashmere an early lead, but Keith Francis equalised before half-time. Dion Moir put Brighton ahead and a muddle in the goalmouth cost Cashmere a third goal soon after. New Brighton will meet either •Technical or Nomads United Jn the final.
