Tallest tower planned

A New Jersey developer has disclosed plans for the tallest building in the world, a 121-storey officetower in the city of Newark. Harry Grant, of Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, said the structure, to be called “Grant USA," would be completed in 1991 and contain 278,709 square metres of office space, as well as 46,451 square metres of retail space. Mr Grant also disclosed plans to build a monorail to link the tower complex with the World Trade Centre, in New York, Newark International Airport, and the Newark Renaissance Mall.
