INL in Target

PA Wellington Independent Newspapers, Ltd, has agreed to buy 50 per cent of the share capital of Target Press, Ltd, of Rotorua. INL’s chairman, Mr J. A. Burnet, said Target Press owned and published the “Rotorua Review” which was distributed free to every home in Rotorua City and Ngongotaha. It was also delivered free to a large number of rural homes in the vicinity of Rotorua. The newspaper provided an alternative medium for retail and community advertising and had strong local support.

Mr Burnet said the “Rotorua Review" would remain under the control and

direction of Mr Chris Gaskell as managing editor, and Mr Rod Hall as advertising manager. The necessary consents to the transaction had been obtained, he said.
