No northern opposition in Riccarton -Chase
South Island jumpers will have the cut-up for the Pyne Gould Guinness Homeby Steeplechase to themselves at the Christchurch Hunt’s meeting at Riccarton on Saturday. The talented Cam-bridge-owned and trained Crown Star was not accepted for, but the eight South Island jumpers entered remained in the field after acceptances yesterday. The Homeby will be the first leg of the T.A.B. treble on Saturday. Other T.A.B. treble races are the Second David Gould and the Kennels Handicap.
The T.A.B. double will be on the Ashley Meats Brabazon and the Camla Handicap.
The Brabazon will also be the T.A.B. trifecta event There will be an on course treble on races 2, 4, and 5.
