One-day airline strike planned
PA Auckland National and international airlines say they are working on emergency plans to counter a 24-hour strike by Civil Aviation staff due to begin at noon on Friday. All flights in and out of Auckland are expected to be affected by the stoppage. A spokesman for Air New Zealand said yesterday it would release a contingency plan today. Qantas is advising people to try to arrange earlier flights if possible, while Polynesian Airlines said it had no special plans. . Continental Airlines said it still hoped to have normal flights.
