MCFARLANE, July 16, 1986 Secretary —- . Princes Wharf Development The Auckland Harbour Board invites preliminary proposals lor the development of Princes Wharf. Although the Port's passenger terminal will remain a principal activity the bulk of the wharf and its six double storey cargo sheds are no longer adaptable for modern cargo needs. This represents a unique opportunity adjacent to the commercial heart of Auckland for the development of a 3.2 ha (8 acre) waterfront 'site' catering for both commercial and public activities. From the initial proposals one or more parties who demonstrate an innovative but soundly based approach and the experience and ability to successfully carry out such a project, will be invited to carry out more detailed investigation. Finally a proposal will be selected and development and tenure terms negotiated. Development Briefs may be obtained upon written application to the Board's Property Manager.
