PA Wellington The president of the National Music Council of New Zealand, Mr Fred Tumovsky, has stepped down after five years in the position. Mr Turnovsky 0.8. E., a Wellington businessman, was formerly deputy chairman of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council, chairman of the New Zealand Opera Company and chairman of the National. Commission for U.N.E.S.C.O. He will be succeeded by the vice-president, Mr Bernie Darby, who is general manager of the Australasian Performing Rights Association, Ltd, general manager of Music Management and Investment Pty, Ltd and chairman of the N.Z. Copyright Council.
