Salary hearing finished
PA Wellington - The Government Services Tribunal hearing of the technical institute tutors’ salary claim has finished, and the tribunal has reserved decision. The claim, which affects about 2800 staff in polytechnics and community colleges, went to arbitration after an offer from the Education Service Committee was rejected in March. The Association Of Teachers in Technical Institutes based its case on difficulties in retaining staff, and an increased work load over recent years. - • The hearing lasted almost a fortnight, and the tribunal’s decision is not expected until next month.
