Swimming squad for Australia
PA Dunedin The New Zealand swimming team to compete in the Australian winter national championships has been announced by Mr Terry Wall (Dunedin), the president of the Amateur Swimming Association.
The team, to leave Auckland on September 1 for the championships at Launceston, Tasmania, from September 4 to 7, is: Girls: Sharon Musson (Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay), Christina Rukuwai (Waikato), Sarah Mahon (Auckland), Anne Smith (Waikato), Anna
Holdsworth (Waikato), Linda Robinson (Canterbury), Rongo Tauranga (Waikato). Non-travelling reserve: Joanne Third (Otago). Boys: Dean Foster (Auckland), Mark Weldon (Auckland), Mark Haimona (Wellington), Richard Tapper (Southland), Craig Jones (Southland), Craig Thomas (Bay of Plenty), Darryl Followes (Wanganui), Scott Bramwell (Auckland). Nontravelling reserves: Peter Doig (Wellington), Billy Doyle (Auckland). The coach is Lindsay Walker (Southland), the manager Merle Jonson (Waikato).
