‘Hottie’ cheapest bedwarmer?

PA Hamilton Bedfellows aside, the good old “hottie” still appears to be the cheapest bedwarmer in terms of power used, according to calculations by Hamilton’s two power supply authorities.

Estimates of how much it costs to fill a humble hot-water bottle nightly for two months range from 30c to about a $l. The cost depends on how much the “hottie” is filled up and whether the water is boiled in a jug or drawn from the hot-water cylinder.

A single electric blanket costs .63c an hour to run.

Used for about 2i/ 2 hours a night, the cost of using the blanket for two months came to just over 90c
