Police view fire as suspicious
The police are treating as suspicious a fire that gutted a house in Hastings Street, Sydenham, on Saturday evening. The house had been unoccupied for the last week, neighbourssaid.Two fire engines attended the blaze which was noticed about 6 p.m. and is believed to have started near the front of the house. Fire also damaged extensively a garage connected to a flat in Armagh Street about 11 p.m. on Saturday. Fire-safety officers are investigating.
