D.B. reconsiders beer price
South Island beer drinkers may soon be able to buy Dominion Breweries beer at the same price as their North Island counterparts. Dominion Breweries executives met last evening to consider whether the extra 5c a jug recently passed on to South Island customers should be dropped.
The move made Dominion Breweries beer more expensive in the South Island than that of its competitor, Lion, and brought a howl of protest from drinkers. An announcement would be made today, said a company spokesman. if the price cut was approved, it would take effect from Monday.
