King phones players
NZPA-Reuter Guadalajara, Mexico King Hassan of Morocco was one of the first to congratulate the nation’s football team yesterday after it had become the first African nation to win through the preliminary phase of a World Cup finals. He rang the team be-
fore the match against Portugal to give it encouragement and after the 3-1 victory he telephoned again, speaking to each of the players who had gathered in a hotel room. The Moroccan players were overjoyed with the result but being strict Muslims, they toasted their victory in lemonade.
