Win for Hinault

NZPA-Reuter Dunkirk The Frenchman, Bernard Hinault, has won the prologue of the Dunkirk four days cycling race, an event that put him back on the winning path two years ago after a long absence through injury.

Hinault covered the 5.9 km prologue in Dunkirk in 7min 7.835, with

Dutch rider Jan Nijdam second, 0.7 s behind, and France’s Gilbert DuclosLassalle a further 2s back. Hinault, five times winner of the Tour de France, has said this season will be his last. He
