Education view endorsed

PA Wellington Kindergarten teachers have endorsed the Minister of Education’s view that investing in earlychildhood education can help reduce violence in society. The Minister, Mr Marshall, said recently that criminals became criminals afer a series of unfortunate events. By helping pre-school children develop self-confid-ence and feel good about themselves, that process could be stopped. The Kindergarten Teachers’ Association president, Mrs Robyn Sigley, said it was heartening to hear such a view. The association was now looking forward to more recognition of the value of early-childhood education, and greater investment of resources.
