$37,000 costs awarded
PA Wellington A former leader of the New Zealand Party, Mr Bob Jones, has been awarded $37,330 costs in his successful defence of a $600,000 defamation action by Sir Robert Muldoon. In the case heard last December, a High Court jury found largely in Mr
Jones’s favour, saying that reported comments about Sir Robert Muldoon were either not said, were not} defamatory, or in one in-' stance the comments were defamatory of Sir Robert but were fair comment on facts truly stated. The jury decided no damages should be awarded.
