Vandalism of offices
PA Tauranga Staff in an upstairs suite of Tauranga offices were cleaning up yesterday after an overnight orgy of destruction. Estimates of the damage in one chartered accountant’s office ranged as high as $50,000 with an expensive computer system, typewriters, a photo copier, and other office furniture destroyed. Glass doors and windows were smashed, pictures ripped off walls, desks upturned and glass and papers strewn across the floor. One firm lost its $12,000 computer after liquid was spilled on it in three places. Tauranga police arrested a man on the premises about 2 a.m. after a security firm was alerted when street side windows of an office were smashed.
