Charity bowls fours
Two Garden City teams contested the final of the charity bowls fours played at Kearneys Road Hall at the week-end in aid of the Nurse Maude Association. Alf Williamson, Bryony Immers, Peg and Geoff Woodfield combined to beat Trevor and Ria Austin, Marie Watson and Lyn McGuigan, 10-7, in the final.
Result: Quarter finals:- G. Hill 7, G. Jackson 4; A. Williamson 8, R. White 6; M. Berke, 'ey 6, E. Tebay 5; T. Austin 11, S. Henderson 5. Semi-final:- Austin 10, Berkeley 4; Williamson 7, Hill 6. Final:- Williamson 10, Austin 7.
