Sunday Club

Sir, — It appears that the only member of the National Party who was capable of getting rid of Muldoonism was Mr McLay. The Sunday Club has been successful in its efforts to replace him with Mr Bolger. Voters will need to remember that by voting for Mr Bolger they will be voting for Sir Robert Muldoon. Now the Sunday Club will be directing itself to becoming nuclear arsenalists. New Zealand could well do without this group calling itself by the dubious name of “Sunday Club.” — Yours, etc.,

N. SMITH. April 16, 1986.

Sir, — Three cheers for the Sunday Club; members saw the need, they grasped the metal, they took the flak, but now, thanks to their efforts, the National Party organisation has been given a blood transfusion and is rapidly being restored to

good health. The Sunday Club has the smell of victory in its nostrils and must remain as the National Party’s driving- force. I note with interest that the Can-terbury-Westland divisional chairman of the National Party has been offered the Sunday Club’s booking for the Town Hall to afford the voting public an opportunity to hear the new Parliamentary leader, Mr Bolger. There is no room for procrastination. The National Party chairman must act immediately to confirm the meeting or hand over the entire organisational side of things to the tried, proved, and now trusted Sunday Club to ensure an election victory. — Yours, etc., M. E. MILLER. April 18, 1986.
