Court hearing for pipeline dispute
A longstanding dispute between the Christchurch Drainage Board and the developer of a Halswell subdivision over the siting of a stormwater pipeline might be settled in court next week. The board is seeking an injunction against Redhill Estates, Ltd, developer of the Wentworth Park subdivision, restraining it from touching the pipeline laid by the board’s
contractor last month. At a brief court hearing yesterday, the matter was held over until Tuesday, the developer undertaking not to touch the pipeline in the meantime. The board laid a complaint with the police last week-end after one of the partners in the development company, Mr Wayne Francis, tried to pull up the pipeline.
