Kidnap and injury bring P.D.
PA Auckland Two brothers who kidnapped and injured a man after the wife of one claimed he had raped her, have been sentenced to terms of periodic detention. Before Mr Justice Prichard in the High Court at Auckland were Bernard Lydon Moore, aged 23, a dye house operator, of Mount Eden, who was sentenced to nine months periodic detention and Harold Stanley Moore, aged 22, a
storeman, of Otara, who was sentenced to six months periodic detention.
Also before the Court was Bernard Moore’s wife, Jacqueline Margaret Moore, aged 23, an unemployed actress, who was ordered to come up for sentence if called on within three months. The three had been found guilty by a jury of kidnapping Ismail Shahin Beyduz on June 3 and injuring him with intent to do so.
