Jail for assault on lan Watkins
PA Auckland Two men who wore balaclavas and stockings over their heads to ransack the house of the actor, lan Watkins, have been sentenced to imprisonment, one for a year and the other for nine months. Mark Robert Ladlow, aged 22, unemployed, of Mt Eden, and Thomas Peter Wylie, aged 20, a student, of Ponsonby, admitted assaulting Mr Wat-
kins with intent to rob. Imposing sentence in the District Court at Henderson, Judge Satyanand described the way the men smashed their way into the house and assaulted Mr Watkins as a deliberate and premeditated act of violence. Wylie was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for the assault. He also was disqualified from driving for 12 months. Ladlow was imprisoned for nine months.
