The condition of Canterbury rivers as reported by the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society was.— Waiau and Hurunui: Milky and fishable; Ashley, Waimakariri gorge, Selwyn and Rakaia: Clear and fishable; Waimakariri mouth: Slightly milky and fishable. ■; All flows, supplied by the North Canterbury Catchment Board, are in cubic metres a second.
