Prosecution over dog
PA Wellington The Wellington police will prosecute the owner of a dog that attacked a woman jogger in Miramar on Easter Monday. Sergeant Gordon Grantham said the police had spoken to the owner but the dog had not been destroyed.
The owner would be prosecuted under the Dog Control and Hydatids Act for having a dangerous dog.
The offence carried a maximum fine of $5OO with the fate of the dog left to the judge’s discretion.
