Fishing postponed
Dirty and unfishable Waimakariri River water during the week-end forced the New Zealand Salmon Anglers Association to postpone its salmon fishing contest until this Saturday and Sunday. After contacting various agents about the river conditions late last week the association decided to
push on with it in the hope that the water would clear quickly, the public-■-ity officer, Mr Lindsay Dell said. When the water was obviously too dirty to fish on Saturday morning, the Wynrod sponsored contest was postponed, he said. Fish caught up until then were still eligible for the appropriate prizes, he said.
