Pay talks for social workers
The Public Service Association and State Services Commission will meet today to discuss the group wage claim of Social Welfare Department social workers. Social workers were not happy with the commission’s offer of about 23 per cent and in Christchurch took limited industrial action on Monday, but resumed normal work on Tuesday to allow the talks today to proceed.
The commission had warned that further action could jeopardise the talks.
