Bolger unity bid gets club backing
The Sunday Club supports Mr Jim Bolger’s bid to unite factions of the National Party. The club’s chairman, Mr Bert Walker, said Mr Bolger’s bid was the first attempt to unite the party since Sir Robert Muldoon was leader.
Mr Bolger told a meeting earlier this week that there was a need to return to traditional philosophies in a calm, clear fashion.
Mr Walker said this view would generally find favour with members of the Sunday Club.
“It could well turn the full strength of the Sunday Club towards him,” he said.
