‘One of poorest fairs for years’
One of the poorest fairs in more than 30 years was how one man described the Methven ram and ewe fair yesterday, after the ewe section took only about an hour to complete. In the two-tooth section, five lots were passed, and the top price of $25.50 went to Mrs A. H. Parker of Lyndhurst for 74 Romneys. Two lots were passed in the adult ewes, where the top price of $17.75 went to J. D. and A. M. Roberts, of Methven for 235 four-year-old Romneys. Sales were.— Two-tooths: F. J.
