Nose operation for Gatting

The England cricketer Mike Gatting, whose nose was broken by a ball from the West Indies bowler, Malcolm Marshall, is tb have an operation in a London hospital today. Gatting flew home at the week-end, and England’s troubles continued when it lost the first test
by 10 wickets in under three days. The Middlesex batsman will leave hospital today, and spend about 10 days recuperating before seeing a specialist. He hopes to return to the West Indies on March 11, in plenty of time for the third test starting on March 21.
