Award to quantity surveyor

A Christchurch quantity surveyor, Mr lan Harrison, has been awarded a Commonwealth Foundation Fellowship for 1986. , Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors, will take up his month-long fellowship in London from April. He is president of the institute. , ,! As one of only two fellows from the Pacific region, he will represent the Commonwealth Association of Surveying and Land Economy. Mr Harrison is well known in Christchurch for his work with children and underprivileged people, and as New Zealand Jaycee national manager for the International Year of the Child programme in 1979. He is a keen public speaker, and judge of speaking competitions, but. he is also known as a part-owner of Samasaan, the winner of the New Zealand Cup and the Wellington Cup.
