Hutt Park tonight

PA Wellington Persistent rain caused the postponement of the Wellington Trotting Club’s fixture at Hutt Park last evening. The third night of the club’s meeting will now

be held tonight with the same programme applying. Club officials were hopeful that the meeting would go ahead last night when the weather cleared at 12.30 p.m. But rain set in again at 2.30 when it was decided to postpone.

The club’s secretary, Stephen Richardson, said the front and back straights of the track were waterlogged and it would have been doubtful that the mobile barrier would have been used.
