Top businesswoman

Nominations have opened for the 1986 businesswoman of the year award, sponsored jointly by Sperry Information Systems and “More” magazine.

Last year’s winner was Mrs Sue Suckling, the manager of Pacific Foods, Ltd, of Christchurch. The

sheepmeat firm is a joint venture between Waitaki NZ Refrigerating, Ltd, and H. Noelke and Company,

of West Germany. Last year — the first time that the competition was held — the organisers received 85 nominations, from which six finalists

were chosen. The award

is designed to highlight the role of women in business, the organisers say.

Nominations close on April 25 and the winner will be announced on June 24.
