World premiere for Disney story
Walt Disney’s story “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” which was successful as a film, will be presented later this year in Christchurch as a stage show. The Lyttelton Rotary Club and the Christchurch Operatic Society have combined to stage the
show in the August school holidays. Malcolm Jones of Christchurch, who will be the musical director for the production, has adapted the film script for the stage. Brian Brodie will be the show’s director and Dianne Honeybone will choreograph the dance

March 9 and 15 and 16. Further details of roles and the actors required will be published in “The Press” on March 1, Mr Yeatman said. He added that the two organisations were delighted to be staging a world premiere in Christchurch.
