Adventure on a boat

By

CHRISTINE

FERGUSON, aged 9

Once upon a time there lived a girl called Aliza, who was very keen on mysteries. But she never got a chance because the “Secret Seven,” the "Famous Five,” the “Thrilling Three,” the “Thrashing Two” and other clubs always got in first.

One hot afternoon, when Aliza was at the beach, she decided to go on a boat that was to have a “fight” with another

boat. When the boat-driver was fighting with the other driver, Aliza saw a large cardboard box. She looked inside and saw it was full of Crown Jewels. She knew that the Crown Jewels were missing. But who would think of looking in New Zealand for them? There was also a note saying, “The jewels are to be buried in Western Samoa, but keep loot on board in hold until I come aboard.” Aliza quickly took the

note and put it in her pocket. Next she closed the box again, then the driver from the other boat took the box and the fight was over. After the trip, Aliza went to the policeman on the beach and told him about the jewels. “They looked like Crown Jewels,” she said, handing him a note. The policeman went with her to the boat When the driver saw the policeman, he said, “All trips cancelled today.”

“Why? asked Aliza. t“Because they are.” < “I am still coming aboard,” said the policeman. J,; When the men were fighting the policeman saw the box was full of Crown Jewels. He tied the <». boats together and arrested the men and drove - \ the boat back to the beach. Aliza went with the policeman to England, and returned the jewels. They ,7, both received $lOO and > Aliza lived happily ever after.
