Interest rates on Kiwi Bonds to rise
PA Wellington Interest rates on Kiwi Bonds will be increased in line with the recent rise in rates on wholesale Government stock, said the Minister of. Finance, Mr Douglas, yesterday.
• The current issue of Kiwi Bonds closed on Friday, February 14, he said. A new issue will open on Friday, February 21 with interest rates of 20
per cent for two years and 19.5 per cent for four years. The other terms and conditions of the bonds would remain unchanged, said Mr Douglas. Rates would continue to be adjusted from time to time to maintain Kiwi Bond yields in line with, but slightly below, comparable rates on wholesale Government stock, he said.
