Councillor gets under $3 an hour
PA Tauranga A Tauranga County councillor who resigned last week says he got less than $3 an hour for council duties. Mr Dave Holland said the cost to councillors of attending day meetings was “enormous” and not appreciated by ratepayers. 4 e “About 30 per cent of the working days of this month must be given to the council, for less than $3 an hour,” Mr Holland sa id - x . “Because of this, with no disrespect to present council members, the ratepayers are not represented by a cross-section of people.
