New dates for bowls pairs
The Christchurch Bowling Centre has decided to play its open pairs tournament on the week-end of April 12 and 13, with the final rounds the following week-end. The tournament was to have started last week-end, but both days were lost because of rain.
The chairman of the centre. match committee, Arch Murray, said yesterday that he was confident enough greens would still be open to play the tournament in mid-April. The original draw will stand and replacements found for any teams which do with-
draw. Meanwhile, the centre has set down Sunday, February 23, as the finals day for the inter-club competitions. The finalists are at present being found through own-arrange-ment games. The finals of the junior fours will be played at Christ-
church, in conjunction with the champion-of-champions singles, on the Sunday morning and the premier and division one three-fours finals will be in the afternoon. The division two and division three finals will be at Edgeware in the morning.
