Twilight cricket groupings
Post-section groupings for the Skellerup All Star business house twilight cricket competitions have been established after the final round of section play. The top eight teams, to play off for the title, are Mount Cook, the Christchurch City Council, Firestone, G. L. Bowron, Waitaki N.Z.R., Cowdy and Co, Seekers and Nuts, Bolts and Screws. Group B will comprise, Wrightson N.M.A., Gold Band Taxis, the "Star,” Christchurch Transport Board, Amur! Motors, Templeton Trades, Deloitte, Haskins and Sells and Davis Gelatine.
Group C is made up of the M. Archibald Motors, Prison Officers, Bascands, N. “The Press,” Smiley Investments and Lawrence, Anderson and Buddle. Results of the last round of section play:— Tuesday competition: Wrightson N.M.A. 150/7 (R. Goldie 31, J. Niven 39 retired, G. Johnston 33; T. Shaw 3/35)beat M.E.D. 36 (Niven 7/7). Bascands 58 (P. Ryall 3/12, G. Robertson 3/%5) lost to Nuts, Bolts and Screws 129/7 (Robertson 22, R. Robertson 38 retired; G. Barr 4/18). Christchurch City Council 139/6 (G. Sanders 37 retired, R. Falloon 38 retired) beat Mount Cook 117 (K. Cameron 30, J. Burnell 29; S. Pratt 3/ 12, including hat-trick). Prison Officers 94 (R. Roper 28) lost to Gold Band Taxis 123/7 (G. Wilson 37 retired, T. Lucock 28, G.
Roberts 30). The Skellerup All Star “player of the night” award went to Jeff Niven, of Wrightsons. The Carlton Bottle store “man of the match” awards went to Graeme Robertson (Nuts, Bolts and Screws), Steve Pratt (C.C.C.) and Gary Wilson (Gold Band Taxis). Points: C.C.C. 87, Mount Cook 82, . Nuts, Bolts and Screws 68, Wrightson N.MA 67, Gold Band 57, Prison Officers 54, Bascands 49, M.E.D. 38.
Wednesday competition: Davis Gelatine 73 (M. Grant 2/5) lost to Templeton Trades 102 (R. Hampton 29, T. Ward 22; C. McKenzie 3/17). Amur! Motors 84 (M. Reeves 23, J. Reeves 24; G. McEwan 3/10, M. Clarkson 3/ 13) lost to G. L Bowron 143 (L. Singleton 40 retired, Clarkson 28; A. Reeves 2/15, M. Welles 2/15). Firestone 156/5 (D. McFarlane 34, T. Pearce 37 retired, R. Furness 22 not out; C. Gilchrist 2/24) beat Smiley Investments 95/6 (Gilchrist 36).
“Christchurch Star" 127/4 (A. Henderson 40 retired, D. Cannan 36 retired; N. Pascoe 2/11) beat N.Z.A.E.I. 78/7 (M. Goodwin 22; L. Whiteside 3/ 12).
Carlton Bottle Store “man of the match” awards went to Richard Hampton (Templeton Trades), Les Singleton (G. L. Bowron) and Alan Henderson (the “Star”) while the Skellerup All Star “player of the night” award went to Cris
Gilchrist, of Smiley Investments.

Thursday competition: Lawrence, Anderson and Buddle 127 (J. Rosevear 26, P. O’Grady 25, I. Kennedy 24; B. Gray 3/6) lost to Waitaki N.ZTI. 145/6 (W. Averill 40 retired, N. McDonald 35, I. O’Hara 26).
Cowdy and Co. 124 (R. Page 34, J. Bishop 39 retired; S.
Payne 3/5) beat Seekers 105/7 (Payne 36 retired). Christchurch Transport Board 121/6 (J. Cook 32, H. Mamoe 35 retired) beat “The Press”. 104/7 (R. Neish 35 retired).
The Skellerup award went to Bruce Gray, of Waitaki. The Carlton Bottle Store honours went to John Bishop (Cowdy and Co.)' and Henry Mamoe (Christchurch Transport Board).
