NZPA-AFP Munich Wives and girlfiends are being encouraged to keep an eye on West Germany’s footballers in Mexico. The West German Football. Federation will pay fares for partners to make the World Cup trip, said the federation’s president, Hermann Neuberger. “It is better for the players. were out on the town too much in Spain in 1982,” he said. The players stand to gain SUS4O,OOO ($76,000) in bonuses if they win the cup and SUS2B,OOO ($53,200) for reaching the final. A semi-final place is worth SUS2O,OOO ($38,000); a quarter-final place SUSI2,OOO ($22,800) and a second round place SUSBOOO ($15,000), Mr Neuberger said.
