Father admits charges of incest

PA Taranaki A Taranaki man who allegedly made an adopted daughter pregnant three times was remanded on continuing bail in the New Plymouth District Court yesterday. The man and his wife were caring for their daughter’s two-year-old child, she miscarried her second pregnancy at six weeks, and she was now five months pregnant, said Sergeant Kevin Newsome. The man, aged 31, admitted molesting the complainant from the time she was 13 years and 8 months on average once every three days. The defendant admitted

four charges of committing incest with his daughter first aged 13 years and 8 months, and doing indecent acts with the same daughter between March 1, 1982, and November 7, 1985.

He admitted committing incest with another daughter first aged 10 years and 8 months, and

doing indecent acts with the same daughter between April 1, 1984, and April 31, 1985.

The man, whose name was suppressed, legally adopted both complainants when he married their mother.

The’ defendant was remanded to appear next Monday for a probation report and sentencing.
