Honours to Canty
PA Wellington Canterbury deservedly took first innings honours in the Shell Trophy cricket match against Wellington at Lower Hutt yesterday, while the home side wrestled with the woes of injuries to its key bowlers, Fred Beyeler and Steve Maguiness. While the English import, Paul Allott, will be fit to play for the Wellington side against Auckland in the next match of the series starting at Eden Park on Saturday, it is highly likely that other changes will be made. Canterbury resumed yesterday at 39 for one and after rushing to 136 for two struck a poor patch and
went to lunch at 167 for five. It recovered and was all out for 297 r Justin Boyle and Ross Ormiston took Wellington to a healthy second innings 86 for one at stumps.
